Happy Thanksgiving....a little late

Hello!!  Hope all is well in your world!!

Did you have a great Thanksgiving?  My daughter and I traveled to NYC to enjoy the Macy's parade.  It was fun.  We haven't been there since she was a little girl.

News in my world.....I have lost 26.8 pounds in 10 weeks.  Joined Weight Watchers in mid-September and joined a gym in October.

Man! Is it hot!!!

Holy crap!!  It's soooo hot and humid here in PA with no relief in sight!!  Seems like a good day to go hang out at the pool.  :)

Is anybody out there???

WOW!!! I haven't been on here in ages!!! I almost completely forgot about my blog!! Does anyone even blog anymore?? In case you haven't noticed....I haven't been. I spend the bulk of my time over on Facebook...as does the rest of the world, I am sure.

So....my daughter is 16 now! So hard to believe. She's even got her driver's license.

I am still with Glen....as frustrating as that is....it is also hard to believe.

Not working. Sucks!! I have been pretty much unemployed for the last year. Lost my job last June and have been working some temp jobs here and there. It's frustrating that I can't find anything in my area of expertise here where I live. I have thought about relocating, but my daughter only has 2 more years of school left----I don't want to uproot her now! Guess I am just gonna have to tough it out. Something will turn up eventually I am sure.

It's a hot week coming up...90's here ALL week. Ugh!! Definitely gotta head to the pool for some coolin' off time.

As 2009 comes to a close

Wow! This year has just flown by.

I hope that you all had a great Christmas. Ours was so-so...not the greatest Christmas on record---but I am glad that it is over. My brother was here with me again---we had a nice visit and then our sister came in from the capitol today and my brother and I went to visit her at her in-law's house.

So---we've got a visitor---another dog---my dog's (Maddie) sister. I am trying to find a good home for her. She was with one of my boyfriend's friends....but I guess he has too many dogs out in the dog "pen" that he has and the neighbors are complaining. She's staying with us for a few days.....but I am trying to find a good home for her. She is 16 months old and has a very sweet demeanor. She is very loving and I think that she does long for affections. She will come over to me at times and will "stand" up on me as if saying "Pick me up....love me." She's a full-blooded beagle, by the way. I will post some pics later.

I was sitting here looking through my blog and that is one thing I didn't do a lot of this year. I usually do my year in review....but it looks like I don't have a lot to go on. Guess I will have to write that one from my head.

So...I am going to be leaving here soon to take my kiddo over to her friend's house for the night.....I hope she gets a move on soon---it's almost 9 here and I would like to go to bed soon.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Thanksgiving week already??? Gosh time just seems to fly by.

School is in full swing---1st marking period is over and my kiddo acheived HIGH HONORS!!! Party over here!!!

I am just a little disappointed though---she was going to try out for swim team....but backed out at the last minute!! She pretty much talked herself out of it and was sure she wouldn't make the team---but it's way too late now---we'll never know.

I am still working full time----Jade's still riding when she can---but school work takes up a lot of time these days.

Moving

This is the week that we move. We are moving into a 100 year old farm house on the other side of town.

We had 6 inches of snow here a few weeks ago....it was crazy---they even ended up canceling school. Too early for winter I think!! But now we are back to more seasonable temps.

Kiddo's doing great in school & has adjusted well to the high school life. She's even thinking about trying out for the swim team.

Moving soon....

Our lease is up here on October 31....so we've got like three weeks to move. We haven't even found anything yet!! Ugh!!!

We did go look at a place last week....I wasn't exactly thrilled with it and neither was Jade...so we decided to keep on looking. It's been a real pain. People love to play games I have noticed. One lady e-mailed me and said that she wanted to rent out her house for a year. She gave me her phone # and I called her....left a message...no return call. I e-mailed her again and asked if the house was still available---she said it was and that I was to call her "tomorrow night" and we'd talk. I called her---she answered the phone and kind of gave me the brush off and told me to call her back and leave her a message and she would get in touch with me later. So---I called her back---left a detailed message and she never called me back. So considerate of her!!!

Another place that I called about---a guy answered the phone and said that the place would be ready in a few weeks. I couldn't get in to see it because the maintenance people were doing some painting, etc., so the guy took my # and said he would call to set up appointments. Oh, he called me alright. He was setting up appointments for Friday afternoon---and he wanted me to pretty much just drop everything in the middle of my work day to come look at the place. He got really quiet when I told him that I worked until 4:30 and would not be able to get there before then. Obviously, this guy doesn't realize that people do work for a living. He was rather curt and said "Well, I suppose I 'could' call the owners and give them your name and number and see if they can show it to you sometime." Yeah....I am still waiting on that call too.

So we are running out of time---and I decided that we may as well go with that place we looked at last week---not that I want to....just desperation...to make sure that we've got a roof over our heads in a few weeks. Been calling that guy and all we get is an answering machine!!! UGH!!!!!!!!!! Why does this have to be so difficult!!!????

Pray for us....that we will find something this week!!
